SPRINGVILLE, Utah - Three wildfires continue to burn in two separate canyons in Utah, forcing campers all over the region to evacuate. 200 acres are burned in the fire at Hobble Creek Canyon, a fire at the mouth of Mapleton Canyon has burned 30 acres and a third wildfire inside Mapleton Canyon has also burned 20 acres. The Forest Service said the cause of all three fires is under investigation.
The fires at both canyons are not threatening any structures yet and the Forest Service said residents nearby should not worry. Smoke jumpers and several helicopters are currently fighting the blaze and more equipment, including a Type 1 helicopter and a Type 1 heavy air tanker are expected to arrive later Monday night and will be used by firefighters on Tuesday.
